Self Defense
What We Teach
Our arts
We teach principle based movements rather than specific technique.
Most movements come from Ki Aikido , Kali and American combat jujitsu, among others.
Our Philosophy
Often as Martial artist, and as a corrections officer I was asked to teach practical self defense and escape for co-workers and students. I found that most could do the movements in class but soon forgot them or didn’t practice the newly acquired skills..
I have recently founded Defensive Tactics of Kansas. The Dt4ems program is the best I have seen and I am very excited to begin teaching it. It is easily applied and has been tested in the field, This is not a martial art nor is it teaching people how to fight but rather a principle based system that works in the real world with out devoting years of practice to make it work.
When I teach I like to find what someone is good at and make them great, rather than average at everything.
We offer practical self defense and defensive tactics training in real world settings. Our Focus is on EMS, Fire, Nurses, MD’s, Medical Staff, Social Workers, Community Corrections and Case Managers. Our curriculum is applicable to any professional who enters a potentially dangerous situation or unknown environment as a part of their Job.
We provide escape and rape prevention training for women.(RAD)
Ki Intervention specializes in women’s self-defense and risk reduction seminars, and provides scholarships to women who have needs but may not possess the means to attend.
